When a tooth is lost to untreated tooth decay, a dental fracture, or a treatment based extraction, the void left in your mouth can lend itself to a plethora of complications. Initially, a missing front tooth can limit your ability to cleanly bite off pieces of food. This could also impact the clarity of your speech and leave you with an unattractive smile.

Even if you eventually adapt to the oral dysfunction of the missing tooth the structural changes in that part of your mouth can eventually affect the alignment of the neighboring teeth. This could cause them to turn at an unnatural angle or drift out of their correct position.

To prevent these complications and restore your basic oral function Dr. Petersen, Dr. Petersen, and his team might recommend replacing the missing tooth by installing a dental bridge.

First, our dentists will prepare the two teeth neighboring the void, by removing the existing tooth enamel.

Impressions of your teeth are taken so that your dental bridge can be constructed. When it’s ready, Dr. Petersen and Dr. Petersen will install it with a strong dental adhesive.
